TRAILER 3 – Diagnosing BPD

Diagnosing Borderline Personality Disorder
carl lessThis video was created for individuals and their loved ones. It explains what causes BPD in a way that is clear and easy to understand.

There is a set of criteria for making a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. Yet, despite clear evidence that BPD is likely the cause of their problems, it is extremely difficult for people to get that diagnosis

It is even harder to get a diagnosis of BPD for an adolescent. Waiting for young people to reach adulthood wastes valuable time in getting the right treatment and prolongs the suffering of the entire family.

This program, the third in a series of five on Borderline Personality Disorder and families, presents the diagnostic criteria for making a diagnosis of BPD and how getting a diagnosis is the first step on the road to recovery.

    Realized she's not acting out

It was good to see that the behaviors we see in our daughter are actually symptoms of the illness- and that she’s not just acting out.
