People who have Borderline Personality Disorder manifest many different behavioral traits. Contrary to conventional thinking about BPD, not all of them are necessarily bad. Some in fact are desirable.

Kate Puim, a contributor to The Mighty.com, a digital health site for people contending with chronic health conditions, brings attention to some of the more positive aspects of BPD. Puim, who acknowledges that she has Borderline Personality Disorder, identifies five positive traits that many people with BPD often possess.

Ms. Puim notes that, “Borderlines are labeled as scary, dangerous, out of control, irrational and manipulative. However this article isn’t about that. This article is about embracing BPD and the positives of having it.” She then describes five of them: They are often found to be loyal, empathetic, creative, relentless, and adaptable.
