The leading cause of disability in the workplace isn’t from a physical injury but from the disease of mental illness.

NAMI Massachusetts (NAMI Mass) did a survey last summer of 800 voters. They found that only 22 percent of those surveyed agreed that someone with mental illness should tell their coworkers.

Since the survey NAMI Mass has started a campaign to reduce mental health stigma in the workplace. Their goal is to have 250 CEOs sign a pledge to change misconceptions about mental illness. Over 25 executives have already signed the pledge.
